2011/8/15

A KOTOBUKIYA Japanese import! The popular Marvel Bishoujo collection (combining iconic superheroines and villains with traditional Japanese stylings) continues to bring you the amazing beauties of the Marvel Comics universe as you’ve never seen them before. Next up in this line is a woman whom a lot of collectors have been requesting, ELEKTRA! Born to a Greek family (with varying back stories), Elektra Natchios suffered the tragedy of watching the murder of her father. Turning to a life of martial arts, she became a skilled ninja with the Hand. Alternating between hero and villain Elektra has had a long history with the valiant Daredevil. Elektra appears for the first time in the Japanese Bishoujo (pretty girl) style based on an original character reinterpretation by renowned illustrator Shunya Yamashita.

The ninja strikes! Elektra is stealthy agility personified, striding across rooftops and preparing her lethal strike. The agent of the Hand is frozen in mid-stride with a tremendous amount of movement captured in the flowing tendrils of her hair and whipping sashes. In her supple hands Elektra wields her iconic weapons, twin deadly sais; with one held up behind her head the assassin points the other at her target. Elektra’s daring ninja costume consists of resplendent metallic red fabric that really stands out from her pale skin tone and black hair. Like those who have come before her Elektra has a beautiful Bishoujo styled face.

Marvel Comics Bishoujo Collection – Introducing X-23!

2011/8/15

A Kotobukiya Japanese import! The popular Marvel Bishoujo collection (combining iconic superheroines and villains with traditional Japanese stylings) continues to bring you the amazing beauties of the Marvel Comics universe as you’ve never seen them before. The line returns to heroic mutants with the beautiful and lethal X-23! Appearing first in the television series X-Men: Evolution in 2003, X-23 was later introduced to the Marvel Comics universe. She is no less than a female clone of Wolverine, created to be a deadly weapon and outfitted with adamantium-coated claws in her hands and feet! After discovering her true identity and joining the good guys, Laura became a key member of X-Force before setting out on her own. X-23 appears here in the Japanese Bishoujo (pretty girl) style based on an original character reinterpretation by renowned illustrator Shunya Yamashita.

Tempering her deadliness with a smile on her face and a relaxed pose, X-23 is still ready for anything. She crouches on one knee, ever alert for danger with her weapons extended; her wicked adamantium claws are quite eye-catching on both hands and her right foot. Outside of combat, Laura wears a striking outfit consisting of a halter top, stylish ripped arm coverings, pants, and boots, all in black. Highly detailed sculpting brings out the intricacies of X-23’s banded and laced boots, her unique linked-ring belt, and medallion necklace. Contrasting with her ebony clothing is the mutant’s beautiful skin, and bright green and gold accents adorn her belt, necklace, and eyes. X-23’s wind-blown hair adds subtle movement to the scene, all of which brings focus to her beautiful Bishoujo styled face.

X-23 is 6 inches tall (in the Marvel Bishoujo 1/7th scale) crouched on her exclusive terrain base. Hunt down this beautiful mutant before she hunts you!

Available March 2012.  Pre-Orders will open soon.  So make sure to stay in tune with Kotous.com!

Kotobukiya’s Ghost Bustars Bishoujo Statue Featured By

2011/8/10

Kotobukiya’s Ghostbuster Bishoujo Statue of Lucy, which made its U.S. premiere and became a big focus at SDCC 2011, is featured by  MTV Geek’s review !  Do not miss pre-ordering this exciting statue!

For Pre-Order: Ghost Busters Lucy Bishoujo

A KOTOBUKIYA Japanese import! The Ghostbusters, New York’s very own paranormal investigators, are back in the headlines and this time around they have a new recruit, Lucy. This Ghostbuster-in-training is determined not to let any spook, specter or ghost get past her and she has the equipment to back her up. Outfitted in Egon Spengler’s proprietary Proton Pack and Ecto Goggles, she is truly a slime-eradicating force to be reckoned with!

Standing triumphantly over a ghost trap after bagging her latest catch, Lucy lets loose a smile of satisfaction over another job well done. She rests the wand of her proton pack on her left shoulder while her other hand sits calmly at her exposed hip. Her uniform has definitely seen better days as her pants are torn and tattered from this recent spectral encounter. The standard issue Proton Pack has thankfully remained unscathed exhibiting incredibly sculpted details such as the power cell, crank generator and Cyclotron.

Ghostbuster Lucy is the latest entry to the Japanese Bishoujo (pretty girl) collection based on an original character design by master illustrator, Shunya Yamashita. Sculpted by Masahiro “Gill Gill” Takahashi, she stands nearly 9 ½ inches tall (in 1/7th scale) atop a specially designed base uniquely accented with a manhole cover donning the Ghostbuster logo. When supernatural activity is afoot, this is the gal you want to call!

Action Figure Times Reviews Kotobukiya’s Ms. Marvel Bi

2011/7/12

“Kotobukiya has been putting out some very sexy and very wonderful statues for some time now. The Bishoujo style which means “beautiful young girl” in Japanese has become one of my favorite collectibles, and with the style teaming up with some of the hottest Marvel characters, well, Kotobukiya really has a winner of a line here.
Ms. Marvel is an awesome sight. The statue features some very precise sculpting and detailed paint application. Dressed in black with a red sash around her waist and flaming energy emanating from her hands, she is a regal character to behold.” (Click for more images at Action Figure Times – Umpire Reviews: Kotobukiya ~ Ms. Marvel)
