Review On Kotobukiya Star Wars ARTFX Statue ~ Obi-Wan Kenobi

2012/3/22

Pixel Dan takes a look at the new Star Wars ArtFX 1/7 Scale Pre-Painted Model Kit of Obi-Wan Kenobi (A New Hope) from Kotobukiya! This awesome statue piece features multiple display options and a bright blue LED light-up!

SRP: $120.00  Available for Pre-Order now!

A KOTOBUKIYA Japanese import! Kotobukiya’s amazing line of Star Wars ARTFX Statues is back, bringing the heroes and villains of the Star Wars universe to life in dynamic 1/7th scale statues. Following the release of Darth Vader comes the original Jedi and hero of the first Star Wars film, OBI-WAN KENOBI A NEW HOPE! Left alone to watch over young Luke Skywalker on Tatooine, Obi-Wan Kenobi was a powerful Jedi and former galactic hero. When the time came he took up his lightsaber once again to help train the young man and it brought him into direct conflict with the Empire and Darth Vader aboard the first Death Star! Obi-Wan wields both lightsaber and the Force in a battle stance that’s defensive and yet powerful at the same time, a Kotobukiya original pose! The Jedi has never looked so good with an incredibly detailed sculpt that captures his intricate flowing robes as well as his Alec Guinness-inspired head sculpt. Obi-Wan comes with two different hoods for your choice of display options: up or down. And that’s not all; Kenobi’s iconic blue lightsaber contains an LED for brilliant illumination of this elegant weapon from a more civilized age. Sculpted by Busujimax (Takaboku Busujima), Obi-Wan Kenobi stands approximately 10 inches tall (1/7th scale) on an exclusive display base that’s reminiscent of the Death Star flooring. The elder Jedi will look great in your Star Wars collection, especially with his light up lightsaber!

Available August 2012.  A Kotobukiya Japanese import! Kotobukiya is proud to combine a classic manga and anime property with a hot new statue format: YuYu Hakusho and the ARTFX J! Created in 1990, the original YuYu Hakusho series ran for years and was then adapted to anime, telling the tales of a student who is brought back from death to serve as an “Underworld Detective” fighting supernatural crime. The warrior and swordsman stands in a relaxed martial arts pose, his right arm extended as he focuses his supernatural energies. He wears a black and white fighting outfit complete with boots and wide multi-layered belt, while a white strap wraps around his left hand. Hiei’s demonic heritage is apparent in his red eyes and jet black hair with white fringe, and you can display him with either of two included faces with or without the evil “Jagan” eye. Tomopop Review: DC Comics Bishoujo Poison Ivy by Kotobukiya

2011/1/22

Tomopop.com has a detail review of DC Comics Bishoujo Poison Ivy by Kotobukiya. Poison Ivy Bishoujo is one of the most detailed statues in the DC Bishoujo lineup to date.  Do not miss to check their site to see it by yourself.

A KOTOBUKIYA Japanese import! The last member of the DC Comics Bishoujo Collection (combining DC’s superheroines and villains with traditional Japanese stylings) was the heroic Supergirl, and coming right after her is the floral femme fatale POISON IVY! Born Pamela Lillian Isley, the woman who would one day haunt Batman and Gotham City was an up and coming botanist and biochemist. A crazy professor betrayed her and injected her with a mixture of poisons, unleashing in Poison Ivy the abilities to control plant life and create her own floral toxins. Working with a variety of evil partners Isley would embark on a life of crime, although occasionally serving as love interest for Bruce Wayne! Poison Ivy appears here for the first time in the Japanese bishoujo (pretty girl) style inspired by Japan’s renowned illustrator Shunya Yamashita!

One of the most detailed statues in the DC Bishoujo lineup to date, Poison Ivy struts her stuff in all of her verdant glory. The sexy eco-terrorist stands proudly among her growing vegetation, high-heeled legs spread apart and hands on her hips. Her notoriously skimpy outfit is recreated in a tiny one piece that shows off all of her beautiful curves. There are a lot of really cool sculpted details like the leafy fringe on her clothing, the tendrils wrapped around her arms like jewelry, and the flowers blooming in Poison Ivy’s hair. Naturally, green is her predominant color. Completing the villainous vixen’s look is her long flowing hair that seemingly has a life of its own, and like all the pretty ladies in her series Poison Ivy has a hauntingly attractive Bishoujo-styled face.
