KOTOBUKIYA Japanese import! At last Kotobukiya returns to the collectible card browser video game Touken Ranbu, in which players fight evil using legendary swords brought to life as young men, with the next unique character in the ARTFXJ Statue lineup (a bold expansion designed “to bring Japanese characters to their fans worldwide”). Following after Hotarumaru is the katana once used by Lord Date Masamune made flesh, SHOKUDAIKIRI MITSUTADA! Based on the sword named for cutting down a candlestick at the same time as a man, this incarnation of Shokudaikiri takes the form of a handsome young man wearing a striking outfit. The stylish and haughty swordsman stands in a balanced pose, relaxed but ready for battle at the same time. With his feet spread wide and his weight shifted forward, Shokudaikiri twists to adjust his center of gravity as he slowly draws his katana from its sheath at his waist. Impeccably dressed, he wears a crisp black suit that’s embellished with classic samurai armor components! While his matching black shoes and gloves are modern, the protective panels at his shoulder, torso, thigh as well as the intricate rope accessories call back to a previous age. Shokudaikiri has gloriously spiky black hair that nearly covers an eyepatch, though his visible yellow eye and smirking grin reveal everything you need to know about his personality. Shokudaikiri Mitsutada stands over 9 ½ inches tall (1/8 scale) on a specially designed display base. He’ll protect your collection and look good doing it whether he’s by himself or alongside other Touken Ranbu statues like Hotarumaru!
